Welcome to unboxing Mondays!! Today we’re doing something so badass. We have the FN 509 brand new out on the market. I cannot wait to tell you guys what is in the box and all about this gun. So let’s get to it.
Alright everyone. What you’re going to get when you receive your FN 509 tactical is a beautiful carrying case. When you open that up, it comes with a bunch of goodies inside. Inside you get your gorgeous FN 509, two 24 round mags, one 17 round mag, a spring, a gun lock, a grip cylinder, manuals, stickers, and all your RMR accessories. We’ll talk about that here in a second as well too.
Let ‘s get into the nitty-gritty of the 509 tactics. The Fn 509 is a double action 9mm. We got two mags rolling in at 24 rounds, and then we have one at 17 for a concealed carry, If you’re feeling a little frisky.
The weight on this thing is 27.9 ounces with a barrel length of 4.5 inches, and an overall length of 7.9 inches. The twist rate on here is a 1 to 10 right hand and twist on the barrel.
The height is coming in at 5.75 inches. The trigger pull is right around 5.5 to 7.5.
The width on here is a 1.35 inches, nothing too crazy, nothing too slim. Sight radius is 5.79 inches.
The best thing about this is it has the FN low profile optics mounting system. This allows you to mount any Rmr you would like on this gun or red dot optic.
They do come with suppressor night sights; I believe it looks like it, haven’t tested them. You do have a threaded barrel so you can throw on a can and suppress this thing,
This thing looks naughty. I mean, with that low profile optics mounting system, it just adds that extra flavor. Also with the low profile optics system here, you get the site protecting side cap, so you don’t have to worry about your sites get knocked out of place. If you drop it out of your truck.
The barrel is cold hammered steel recessed target Crown, Polished Chamber and feeds ramp.
The frame is an enhanced grip texture which enables faster follow up shots in all conditions.
We have a mil-spec 1913 accessory mounting rail on here, so you can attach all your lights, lasers, excellent optics, chainsaws, grenade launchers, whatever you may have.
The trigger pull is feeling good. 5.5 pounds. The re-set feels a little weird on this gun. There is no safety on this firearm, which is how they should be. It is ambidextrous. So you have Ambi mags release and Ambi slide locks. All the good stuff. Be sure to look out for our video on the FN 509 tactical gun range.
It also comes with a yellow spring for the gun. This is for if you’re using lower powdered target ammunition or frangible ammo as well, so be sure to check that out. Try it out at the range and let us know if you like it. They do not recommend it for self-defense or anything like that.
Then you also get all your plate covers. These are for all the different RMR’S or red dots you can throw on top of this gun. It looks like it’s pretty versatile and looks like you can mount it just about anything you want on here.
