This year, Singapore Art Week served as the opening gambit in a reconfigured 2026 art calendar\u2014one where upcoming launches like <a href=\"https:\/\/observer.com\/2025\/10\/art-basel-qatar-2026-exhibitors-wael-shawky-doha\/\">Art Basel Qatar<\/a> in February and <a href=\"https:\/\/observer.com\/2025\/10\/frieze-abu-dhabi-2026-art-basel-qatar-gulf-expansion\/\">Frieze Abu Dhabi<\/a> in November continue to pull the market\u2019s center of gravity away from the traditional Euro-American circuit.<\/p>\n<section class=\"wp-block-observer-newsletters observer-newsletters--in-content\">\n<\/section>\n<p>When <a href=\"https:\/\/observer.com\/company\/art-sg\/\" title=\"ART SG\" class=\"company-link\">ART SG<\/a> concluded its fourth edition at Marina Bay Sands, the fair appeared more assured, underpinned by the city-state\u2019s expanding family-office base\u2014roughly 2,000 single-family offices, a 3.5-fold increase since its 2023 inaugural launch, driven by capital migration from Hong Kong, mainland China and beyond. This influx has drawn Chinese and other Asian collectors, a notable NRI presence and an engaged local community, reinforced by <a href=\"https:\/\/observer.com\/2026\/01\/consolidation-art-sg-sea-focus-art-fair-report-singapore\/\">initiatives like S.E.A. Focus\u2019s integration<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This regional focus was evident in the fair\u2019s roster, which featured a strong Indian presence\u2014including <a href=\"https:\/\/observer.com\/company\/galerie-nvya\/\" title=\"Galerie Nvya\" class=\"company-link\">Galerie Nvya<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/observer.com\/company\/gallery-art-positive\/\" title=\"Gallery Art Positive\" class=\"company-link\">Gallery Art Positive<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/observer.com\/company\/nature-morte\/\" title=\"Nature Morte\" class=\"company-link\">Nature Morte<\/a>\u2014alongside a solid Southeast Asian contingent. Singapore offers these galleries a distinct logistical advantage. \u201cIt\u2019s an important location for us,\u201d New Delhi-based <a href=\"https:\/\/observer.com\/company\/art-magnum\/\" title=\"Art Magnum\" class=\"company-link\">Art Magnum<\/a> director <a href=\"https:\/\/observer.com\/person\/saurabh-singhvi\/\" title=\"Saurabh Singhvi\" class=\"company-link\">Saurabh Singhvi<\/a> told Observer, citing its \u201cefficiency and ease of participation compared with Seoul or Tokyo.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>American participation was less visible but still present. <a href=\"https:\/\/observer.com\/company\/jacob-arthur-gallery\/\" title=\"Jacob Arthur Gallery\" class=\"company-link\">Jacob Arthur Gallery<\/a>, a young Los Angeles space founded only last year and soon to be Miami-based, joined the fair as part of a deliberate effort to test the Asian market.
