Sen. Lindsey Graham didn\u2019t mince words Saturday morning as U.S. and Israeli forces carried out a sweeping joint operation targeting Iranian military infrastructure.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere\u2019s a new dawn coming in the Mideast,\u201d Graham said, casting the strikes as more than retaliation \u2014 but a historic turning point.<\/p>\n
The South Carolina Republican called the operation one of \u201cthe most significant things that\u2019s happened in my lifetime,\u201d adding that it may be \u201cthe most significant thing that\u2019s happened in the Mideast in a thousand years.\u201d<\/p>\n
Graham made the remarks during an appearance on \u201cFox & Friends\u201d Saturday morning. He argued that dismantling Iran\u2019s military power could unlock a broader regional reset, building on the Abraham Accords brokered during President Donald Trump\u2019s first term.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere\u2019s an opportunity for the region to build on the Abraham Accords,\u201d Graham said, suggesting that weakening Tehran\u2019s grip could accelerate normalization between Israel and additional Arab nations.<\/p>\n
For years, Graham has labeled Iran the central destabilizing force in the region, pointing to its financing and arming of proxy groups like Hezbollah and Hamas as the engine behind much of the Middle East\u2019s bloodshed.<\/p>\n
