When Capitol Police were finally able to get him to the door, he could be seen grabbing the door, wedging his arm between the door and the frame.<\/p>\n<p>Sheehy, a retired Navy SEAL, assisted the officers in their efforts, pausing only briefly to help pry McGinnis\u2019s hand from the door.<\/p>\n<p><strong>WATCH:<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Senator Sheehy joined Capitol Police in lifting up and ejecting anti war protestor Brian McGinnis from a SASC subcommittee hearing. An antiwar activist filmed the video below: <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/0dVA0ORWXQ\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">pic.twitter.com\/0dVA0ORWXQ<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Alan He (@alanhe) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/alanhe\/status\/2029301477341061613?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">March 4, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cNo one wants to fight for Israel!\u201d McGinnis shouted, apparently referencing Operation Epic Fury, the joint campaign with Israel against the Iranian regime.<\/p>\n<p>Another protester could be heard shouting as Sheehy tried \u2014 with no luck \u2014 to pull McGinnis\u2019s hand away from the door, claiming that Sheehy had broken the candidate\u2019s hand: \u201cA U.S. Senator just broke the hand of a Marine!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Back on his feet, McGinnis complained that his hand was stuck, and several Capitol Police officers continued to attempt to free him from the door.<\/p>\n<p>Sheehy responded to the incident in a post on X, saying, \u201cCapitol Police were attempting to remove an unhinged protestor from the Armed Services hearing. He was fighting back. I decided to help out and deescalate the situation. This gentleman came to the Capitol looking for a confrontation, and he got one. I hope he gets the help he needs without causing further violence.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Capitol Police also released a statement following the altercation, telling <a href=\"https:\/\/dailymontanan.com\/2026\/03\/04\/montana-sen-sheehy-gets-in-altercation-with-anti-war-protester\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Daily Montanan<\/a>, \u201cThis afternoon, an unruly man who started to illegally protest during a hearing, put everyone in a dangerous position by violently resisting and fighting our officer\u2019s attempts to remove him from the room.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The statement also said that McGinnis was treated for an unspecified injury \u2014 but that three of the Capitol Police officers also had to be treated for injuries as a result of his actions.<\/p>\n<p>McGinnis faces three counts of \u00a0\u201cresisting arrest and crowding, obstructing, and incommoding for the unlawful demonstration\u201d as well as three counts of assaulting a law enforcement officer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cProtests are not allowed inside the Congressional Buildings.
