Attorneys for Tyler Robinson, the man accused of killing Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, have revealed several witnesses expected to testify for the prosecution ahead of his upcoming trial.<\/p>\n
According to Fox News<\/a>, Robinson\u2019s parents and his romantic transgender-identifying partner, Lance Twiggs, who was seen in a widely circulated image<\/a> wearing an outfit common in the furry subculture, are among those listed as potential witnesses.<\/p>\n The case stems from the September 10, 2025, shooting of Kirk at\u00a0Utah Valley University in Orem.<\/p>\n According to the court documents filed Friday, Robinson\u2019s defense team said federal investigators have not definitively linked the bullet recovered during Kirk\u2019s autopsy to the rifle allegedly used in the fatal shooting. The defense said the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) was unable to make a match, and additional analysis by the FBI is ongoing.<\/p>\n Forensic experts noted that bullet fragmentation \u2014 which the ATF report, cited by the defense, suggests occurred in this case \u2014 frequently makes it difficult or impossible to definitively match a bullet to a specific weapon. The defense is seeking to delay the preliminary hearing by at least six months, arguing it has not had sufficient time to review the evidence.<\/p>\n \u201cUntil the defense receives the case files and protocols relating to these analyses, and has them independently evaluated by its expert, they will not be in a position to assess the reliability of this evidence if either the State or the defense decides to proffer it,\u201d the document stated.<\/p>\n Defense lawyers also said they have received more than 600,000 files from prosecutors, including a hard drive containing 31 hours of audio and roughly 700 hours of video.<\/p>\n \u201cDiscovery in this case is incomplete, voluminous, and the processing of it is complex,\u201d the document stated.<\/p>\n Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty against Robinson, 22, who has not yet entered a plea.<\/p>\n The next hearing is scheduled for April 17 for a defense motion to ban cameras from the courtroom. Kirk\u2019s widow, Erika, has opposed that request.<\/p>\n \u201cThere have been cameras all over my friends and family mourning,\u201d Erika said during an interview with Fox News. \u201cThere have been cameras all over me, analyzing my every move.
