Officials on the scene had to smash the rear windshield to retrieve one prized possession for golf legend Tiger Woods following his recent rollover crash in Florida: the bag containing his golf clubs.<\/p>\n
Bodycam footage<\/a> showed police officers at the scene talking to the golfer\u2019s manager, Rob McNamara, who stressed that Woods did not want to leave his clubs behind.<\/p>\n One officer at the scene told McNamara, \u201cI understand,\u201d and added that the clubs were \u201cworth more than my house.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThe putter is worth more than all of our houses,\u201d McNamara said, standing next to the police vehicle where Woods was in the backseat, the door open.<\/p>\n \u201cOther than the clubs is there anything in there that you absolutely need at the moment?\u201d the deputy asked.<\/p>\n \u201cNo, just the sticks,\u201d Woods replied. \u201cThe sticks in the golf bag.\u201d<\/p>\n He acknowledged that there were other golf clubs in the vehicle, but repeated that the only ones he needed were the ones inside the bag.<\/p>\n The deputy asked him about the putter then, and Woods explained, \u201cI\u2019ve won 14 majors with it.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThey don\u2019t call you the GOAT for nothing, man,\u201d the deputy laughed.<\/p>\n The golfer\u2019s Range Rover was turned from its side to an upright position, and upon realizing that the trunk could not be opened, someone from the fire department stepped in and shattered the back windshield. Police were then able to reach into the trunk and pull out the golf bag with the clubs inside \u2014 one of which sported a tiger head cover.<\/p>\n After failing several sobriety tests \u2014 and refusing a urine test \u2014 Woods was charged with DUI<\/a> with property damage and refusal to submit to a test.<\/p>\n As The Daily Wire previously reported, a judge granted the golfer\u2019s request to travel outside of the United States after the golfer\u2019s attorney cited his need to get into an \u201cintensive, highly individualized and medically integrated program.\u201d Woods said<\/a> on Tuesday that he would be \u201cstepping away for a period of time to seek treatment and focus on my health.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
