\u201cI pray every morning because maybe of the line of work I\u2019m in: the stress level and intensity of it. I\u2019m an intense person, and that really resonates to me,\u201d Hurley said. \u201cI also like the Proverbs, the Our Father, Hail Mary and the \u2018Serenity Prayer.’\u201d<\/p>\n
He\u2019s a man who sticks to his routine, especially on game day. Monday, he will know nothing more or less than he does for every game day as he sets his eyes on a third title, and sixth overall, for Connecticut.<\/p>\n
UConn is the underdog, but Hurley said his team is ready to take on a \u201cdominant\u201d Michigan team, adding that sometimes, the best team doesn\u2019t cut down the nets at the end of the NCAA Tournament.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou\u2019ve just got to be better for one night, and obviously for us, we need to play the game a certain type of way where we obviously can\u2019t get into a certain type of game with Michigan. They\u2019re an incredibly dominant team,\u201d Hurley said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere are no holes in their attack, they\u2019re an elite defensive team, they\u2019re an elite offensive team. They crush the glass.\u201d<\/p>\n
Michigan head coach Dusty May gave credit to Hurley and his team\u2019s ability to fight till the end.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey take what the games give them, they ride a hot hand \u2026 so there\u2019s just a number of challenges,\u201d May said. \u201cYou can\u2019t go into this game saying if you do this, we are going to win \u2026 even if we do that well, they\u2019re going to pivot, and we are going to have to find a way to counter that pivot.\u201d<\/p>\n
