Instead, Special Envoy Steve Witkoff is expected to arrive on Monday evening ahead of the talks and President Trump\u2019s son-in-law Jared Kushner is also set to attend the Tuesday meetings.<\/p>\n<p>Trump did not rule out making a trip to Islamabad himself, The New York Post <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/04\/19\/us-news\/iran-war-negotiations-will-resume-this-week-trump-tells-the-post\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a>, but said that he wanted to see how the next round of negotiations went before he committed to his own next move: \u201cI would say maybe at a little bit later date. [Trump] added, \u2018JD is great.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Trump lashed out at the Iranian regime via Truth Social on Sunday morning, following reports that the Iranian military had opened fire on ships in the Strait of Hormuz after agreeing to keep it open.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIran decided to fire bullets yesterday in the Strait of Hormuz \u2014 A Total Violation of our Ceasefire Agreement! Many of them were aimed at a French Ship, and a Freighter from the United Kingdom,\u201d Trump posted, adding, \u201cThat wasn\u2019t nice, was it?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy Representatives are going to Islamabad, Pakistan \u2014 They will be there tomorrow evening, for Negotiations,\u201d he continued, and then confirmed to several outlets on Sunday that Vance would not be part of those conversations in person.<\/p>\n<p>Trump concluded by warning the Iranian regime to take the deal being offered by the United States, saying, \u201cWe\u2019re offering a very fair and reasonable DEAL, and I hope they take it because, if they don\u2019t, the United States is going to knock out every single Power Plant, and every single Bridge, in Iran. NO MORE MR. NICE GUY! They\u2019ll come down fast, they\u2019ll come down easy and, if they don\u2019t take the DEAL, it will be my Honor to do what has to be done, which should have been done to Iran, by other Presidents, for the last 47 years.
