The Apple TV series \u201cThe Savant,\u201d which was postponed in the wake of Charlie Kirk\u2019s assassination, is now apparently going to have its debut.<\/span><\/p>\n The series was scheduled to premiere in September 2025, but that all changed after Kirk was shot during a speaking event at Utah Valley University. \u201cThe Savant\u201d follows an undercover investigator, Jodi Goodwin (Jessica Chastain), who infiltrates online hate groups in an attempt to curtail mass terror attacks.<\/span><\/p>\n Because this is Hollywood, the main character, who is based on a real person, mostly hunts for woman-hating white supremacists. Daily Wire contributor Christian Toto <\/span>previewed<\/span><\/a> the series and said it was \u201cripped from a progressive\u2019s fever dream, a tale completely disconnected from today\u2019s headlines.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cBefore it was like, \u2018I don\u2019t know if we\u2019re going to see it,\u2019 but now I can say, \u2018We\u2019re going to see it,\u201d Chastain <\/span>told<\/span><\/a> Variety at an event on Saturday night. The outlet did not confirm an exact date, but they reported that inside sources said it would happen in July.<\/span><\/p>\n Apple TV announced the postponement on September 23. Chastain, who is an executive producer, posted on Instagram the following day that she did not agree with Apple TV\u2019s decision to pull the show due to Kirk\u2019s assassination.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cIn the last five years since we\u2019ve been making the show, we\u2019ve seen an unfortunate amount of violence in the United States,\u201d she <\/span>wrote<\/span><\/a> on social media at the time before going on to list various events, including January 6 and the assassination attempts on President Donald Trump.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThese incidents, though far from encompassing the full range of violence witnessed in the United States, illustrate a broader mindset that crosses the political spectrum and must be confronted. I\u2019ve never shied away from difficult subjects, and while I wish this show wasn\u2019t so relevant, unfortunately it is. \u2018The Savant\u2019 is about the heroes who work every day to stop violence before it happens, and honoring their courage feels more urgent than ever.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
