This might come as a shock, but I know nothing about horse racing and I base imaginary bets purely on the most fun horse names. Even if the odds are against them, my money\u2019s on <\/span>Right to Party<\/span><\/a>, So Happy, or Chief Wallabee winning the <\/span>152nd Kentucky Derby<\/span><\/a> on May 2. (They\u2019re all winners in my book.)\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Of course, the equine event of the year wouldn\u2019t be complete without the <\/span>official cocktail of Churchill Downs<\/span><\/a>. Mix a <\/span>mint julep<\/span><\/a> by adding 15 fresh mint leaves to a <\/span>julep cup<\/span><\/a> or glass with one ounce of simple syrup. Gently crush the leaves with a spoon or wooden muddler, then loosely pack the glass with crushed ice, followed by 2 1\/2 ounces of bourbon. It wants its mojo back. With a bad rep for being slow, \u201c<\/span>farty<\/span><\/a>,\u201d and having the world\u2019s worst <\/span>muzak<\/span><\/a>, your nearest lift is getting a makeover thanks to the Nonchalant Elevator Challenge.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The goal is to interrupt the closing doors of a waiting elevator with the most creative effortlessness. <\/span>Toss a hat<\/span><\/a> into the crack of the door, catch it before it falls, and flip it onto your head as you saunter in. Or just throw your <\/span>shoe<\/span><\/a>. You do you.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n You catch more flies with White House honey<\/b><\/p>\n The British royals popped by America this past week (I assume it was mostly so Chuck could catch up with <\/span>his cousin<\/span><\/a>, Donnie). For their state dinner, the King and Queen dined on <\/span>garden herb velout\u00e9<\/span><\/a> with hearts of palm, herb ravioli, and Dover sole with snow peas and <\/span>pav\u00e9<\/span><\/a> potatoes. <\/span><\/p>\n But let me tell you about that dessert course. \u2018T<\/span>was a beehive-shaped chocolate cake filled with vanilla custard and served with cr\u00e8me fra\u00eeche ice cream and floral <\/span>White House honey<\/span><\/i>. Tragically, you <\/span>can\u2019t buy White House honey<\/span><\/a> online; only the Trumps can \u201cbee\u201d-stow it upon you. Still, I couldn\u2019t take my eyes off the new White House beehive shaped like <\/span>The White House<\/span><\/a>. <\/span><\/p>\n\n
