The White House released the first batch of anticipated UFO files on Friday that have long been hidden from public view.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThe Department of War is in lockstep with President Trump to bring unprecedented transparency regarding our government\u2019s understanding of Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena,\u201d War Secretary Pete Hegseth said. \u201cThese files, hidden behind classifications, have long fueled justified speculation \u2014 and it\u2019s time the American people see it for themselves. This release of declassified documents demonstrates the Trump Administration\u2019s earnest commitment to unprecedented transparency.\u201d<\/p>\n Over 160 files can be viewed at a new webpage<\/a> from the Department of War. The files include photos, FBI investigative records, eyewitness testimonies, and public reports concerning UFOs. One image was captured during the Apollo 17 moon landing and shows three shining dots in space.<\/span><\/p>\n More records are expected to be released on a rolling basis.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cFor the first time in history, the American people have unfettered access to declassified government files on Unidentified Anomalous Phenomenon \u2014 a level of transparency that no prior administration has delivered,\u201d FBI Director Kash Patel said. \u201cThe FBI remains committed to supporting this rolling declassification effort with the same rigor and integrity we bring to every national security matter.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n The release comes after President Donald Trump in February directed the release of government records related to \u201calien and extraterrestrial life.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Tennessee Republican Tim Burchett said<\/a> last month in an interview with NewsNation that he had seen UFO-related videos that he didn\u2019t believe could be explained by man-made technology.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ve seen pictures and video of things that defy any reason that we have, and everybody says, \u2018Well, it\u2019s our stuff, it\u2019s the Russians, it\u2019s the Chinese,\u2019\u201d he said. \u201cIf it\u2019s the Chinese, ma\u2019am, they would own us. If it was the Russians, they wouldn\u2019t be bogged down in Ukraine.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cIf it was ours, we would never risk our military fighting men and women in half-a-billion-dollar aircraft out with these things that they\u2019re spotting. These things can hover for hours on end, then they can just shoot straight up, they can do angles.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Last week, Trump teased the release of the files during an event at the White House with the Artemis II astronauts.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019re going to be releasing a lot of things that we haven\u2019t,\u201d Trump said. \u201cI think some of it\u2019s going to be very interesting to people.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
