Chipotle CEO Scott Boatwright said the solution to shrinking portion sizes is simple: just ask for more.<\/span><\/p>\n The exec addressed the issue during an appearance this week on Yahoo! Finance. Customers have been complaining for months that fast food burgers are smaller, pre-packaged snacks have less food, and burritos from Chipotle aren\u2019t as stuffed as they used to be.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cIf you want more, you should ask for a little more,\u201d the fast food exec said. \u201cI promise you, there\u2019s never a team member on that line that is going to say no to you.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cWe will continue to put heaping spoonfuls of food in bowls and burritos,\u201d Boatwright continued, adding that the company is focused on both portions and food quality.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cIt has always been our brand ethos, and it is still to this day,\u201d he insisted. \u201cWe serve big, beautiful bowls and burritos. No questions asked.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n The CEO further pushed back on claims that Chipotle employees were \u201cskimping\u201d on portion sizes.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI tell my team all the time, \u2018put as much food in that bowl and burrito as you possibly can,’\u201d he told Yahoo! Finance. \u201c\u2018I want the consumer to tell you, \u2018it\u2019s too big.’\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019re about abundance, we\u2019re about value,\u201d he went on. \u201cValue equals benefit over price.\u201d The exec also claimed to be \u201cabsorbing\u201d the cost of inflation rather than passing it on to customers. He told the outlet that Chipotle is pleased to offer \u201can affordable price point for all walks of life, and we\u2019re for everyone. We want everyone to have access to wholesome, nutritious food.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Commenters were skeptical that restaurant workers would be willing to increase portion sizes without charging them extra.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cSave this video [for] every time you walk in,\u201d one commenter wrote.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cHe said if you want more, they will give you more, but will also charge you more,\u201d another comment said.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cBro \u2026 have you been to Chipotle,\u201d a third person chimed in.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cStraight lies they will 100% charge you double each time you say more,\u201d yet another commenter agreed.<\/span><\/p>\n Others brought up the common complaint that delivery portions are rumored to be much smaller than those being served inside the restaurants, a problem that wouldn\u2019t be solved by Boatwright\u2019s suggestion to \u201cask for more.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n
