Yale University\u2019s medical school illegally discriminates in admissions to favor black and Hispanic students, a Justice Department investigation found.<\/span><\/p>\n On Thursday, the Justice Department\u2019s Civil Rights Division completed a year-long investigation into the Ivy League school\u2019s admissions policies and practices. According to the federal government, Yale admits black and Hispanic applicants at higher rates than white and Asian applicants with similar academic credentials. <\/span><\/p>\n \u201cBlack and Hispanic applicants were admitted with consistently lower academic qualifications than their White and Asian counterparts,\u201d the DOJ said in a statement. \u201cThese facts support the Department\u2019s <\/span>finding<\/span><\/a> that Yale violated the law by intentionally discriminating based on race in its admissions, in clear violation of federal law.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n The findings suggest Yale may be violating the landmark 2023 Supreme Court ruling<\/a> striking down race-based affirmative action policies at Harvard and the University of North Carolina.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThe students admitted to Yale School of Medicine demonstrate exceptional academic achievement and personal commitment; its program of medical education encourages curiosity and critical thinking, and its graduates go on to become leaders in clinical care, research, and public service,\u201d a university spokesperson said in a statement to The Daily Wire. \u201cWe will carefully review the Department of Justice\u2019s letter. Yale School of Medicine is confident in the rigorous admissions process we follow.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The Department of Justice, however, disagrees.<\/p>\n \u201cYale has continued its race-based admissions program despite the Supreme Court and the public\u2019s clear mandate for reform,\u201d Assistant Attorney General Harmeet K.
