Spencer Pratt is showing receipts after Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass<\/span><\/span> repeatedly dismissed him as a \u201cformer reality TV star.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pratt fired back by posting a decades-old Los Angeles Times article that referenced Bass traveling to Cuba in the 1970s with the Venceremos Brigade, a communist-linked activist group that intelligence documents accused of teaching \u201cterrorist tactics and guerrilla warfare.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I was in my 20s I was on a TV show,\u201d Pratt wrote on X. \u201cWhen Karen Bass was in her 20s, she was training in terrorist tactics and guerrilla warfare with communists in Cuba. Back when the L.A. Times was still in L.A., and used to tell the truth\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

The resurfaced Los Angeles Times article from 1983 stated Bass traveled to Cuba with the \u201c6th Contingent of the Venceremos Brigade.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to the report, a 1973 intelligence document described the brigade as a group that \u201ctrains revolutionary-prone Americans in terrorist tactics and guerrilla warfare while claiming to harvest sugar cane.\u201d<\/p>\n

The article also stated Bass, who was described as a brigade leader, \u201creturned from Cuba to the U.S.A. bringing back propaganda literature,\u201d though the report noted the document did not cite the source of that information.<\/p>\n

Bass denied wrongdoing at the time and reportedly said her trips to Cuba were educational and \u201chad nothing to do with terrorism.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pratt\u2019s post quickly spread across social media, especially in conservative circles where critics accused Bass and her allies of trying to reduce Pratt to a punchline while treating Bass\u2019 own political history with far more caution.<\/p>\n

Pratt\u2019s attacks on Bass have escalated since California Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom endorsed her. During an appearance on Fox News\u2019 \u201cSaturday in America,\u201d Pratt accused Bass and Newsom of failing Californians while billions were spent on homelessness programs.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not shocking because they\u2019re alleged criminal partners,\u201d Pratt said. \u201cThey\u2019re both complicit in laundering $24 billion to actually increase homelessness.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pratt also argued that Los Angeles residents can clearly see conditions worsening despite years of spending and promises from state leaders.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnybody with eyeballs in the state of California or Los Angeles knows that there has not been a reduction in one homeless person,\u201d Pratt said. \u201cActually there\u2019s been an increase of naked drug addict zombies in front of every kid\u2019s playground, every kid\u2019s school, every coffee shop.\u201d<\/p>\n

The exchange marks the latest escalation in the increasingly personal political fight between Bass and Pratt as the Los Angeles mayoral race continues heating up.<\/p>\n
