St. Andrew\u2019s Presbyterian Church, the woke Austin church attended by Talarico, <\/span>lists<\/span><\/a> Planned Parenthood, which ends the lives of hundreds of thousands of unborn babies every year, as one of the organizations that shares its \u201cvision and goals for the world.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n The church, which The Daily Wire reported<\/a> last week stocks sexually explicit books aimed at young people in its library<\/span>, sets aside money every year for Planned Parenthood, according to its website. It also describes itself as a \u201cReproductive Freedom Congregation,\u201d <\/span>meaning<\/span><\/a> it believes that \u201cabortion is a blessing.”<\/span><\/p>\n Donating to Planned Parenthood is not the only way that St. Andrew’s promotes abortion.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Through its Social Justice Committee, the church <\/span>backs<\/span><\/a> a project called \u201cField of Hope.\u201d The project was created as a memorial for the AIDs epidemic, but now <\/span>promotes<\/span><\/a> a variety of other activist organizations. One such organization is the Lilith Fund, which <\/span>provides<\/span><\/a> money for Texans to travel out of state to kill their unborn babies.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n It also promotes a <\/span>similar organization<\/span><\/a> called Jane\u2019s Due Process, which says it provides \u201cabortion and practical support funding for young people under 18 traveling out of Texas for abortion care.\u201d This means it openly funds teenagers looking to leave Texas for abortions.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The church’s position on abortion is in line with Talarico\u2019s own suppor<\/a>t for codifying Roe v. Wade<\/em> into federal law to create a so-called right to an abortion.\u00a0<\/span>Talarico <\/span>grounds his support for abortion in the biblical account of an angel visiting the Virgin Mary and telling her that she would miraculously conceive and give birth to Jesus Christ.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n “I say all this in the context of abortion, because before God comes over Mary, and we have the incarnation, God asks for Mary\u2019s consent,\u201d he said during an appearance on the Joe Rogan podcast. \u201cYou cannot force someone to create\u2026 so that\u2019s how I come down on that side of the issue.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Talarico\u2019s opponent, Paxton, has gone after leftist activists that ship abortion pills into Texas during his time as attorney general. Much of his attacks on Talarico have focused in on the Democrat\u2019s leftist statements on religion, abortion, and transgenderism.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The radical pro-abortion groups are just a sliver of the liberal causes supported by the church. Other organizations St. Andrew\u2019s lists on its donation page included Out Youth Austin, the U.S. Campaign for Palestinian Rights, Evergreen Action, and the Carbon180.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Out Youth Austin <\/span>describes<\/span><\/a> itself as a group that provides \u201ca safe space for LGBTQ+ youth to come together, receive support, and make friends who understand who they are.\u201d One of the programs it offers is a summer camp for kids between the ages of 11-17 who identify as gay or transgender.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The organization says that recent actions in Texas have \u201ccaused distress\u201d for \u201ctrans and non-binary youth\u201d and points to a number of radical groups that support transgender procedures on kids. For people 18 and older, Out Youth Austin will help them <\/span>obtain<\/span><\/a> the \u201cnecessary letters\u201d for \u201cthis important step in your transition.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n The U.S. Campaign for Palestinian Rights is an anti-Israel organization that says it is <\/span>focused<\/span><\/a> on \u201ccollective liberation\u201d opposed to \u201call forms of bigotry\u201d which it defines as \u201cZionism, racism, Islamophobia, antisemitism, sexism, queerphobia, transphobia, classism, and ableism.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Evergreen Action is <\/span>focused<\/span><\/a> on the fight to \u201cdefeat climate change\u201d founded by staffers who used to work for Washington Democrat Governor Jay Inslee.
