Dearest readers, if you’ve ever been called a racist, bigot, or fascist pig simply for pointing out what’s in front of you, have no fear. You’re not the villain. You just have working eyes.
Take Luke Rosiak, Daily Wire‘s investigative reporter, who this week exposed what looks like a billion-dollar Medicaid scam in Columbus, Ohio. While doing his job — following the money, documenting the waste, naming the names — an individual at one of the companies under his microscope called him a “racist.” That’s the play, isn’t it? Do the illegal thing, claim victim status. Point out the illegal thing, get called a fascist, racist, bigot — oh my!
Over the last several months, through the work of DOGE and investigative journalists like Rosiak and Christopher F. Rufo, Americans have been jolted awake to the staggering misuse of their tax dollars. Our hard-earned money is being funneled through welfare programs like Medicaid, Medicare, and SNAP, and in some cases, traced all the way to terrorist organizations abroad, often finessed by the very people this country so generously welcomed in.
In early 2025, DOGE, the Department of Government Efficiency, led by Elon Musk, was charged with exposing and cutting federal waste, fraud, and abuse. With faith, trust, and Big Balls, $215 billion in fraud was found and cut, and the citizen cavalry didn’t stop there. In November 2025, Rufo and Ryan Thorpe broke early ground on Minnesota, detailing what they reported as a $9 billion fraud scheme embedded in the state’s welfare and childcare programs, particularly Somali-run operations. Federal prosecutors alleged some of those funds traveled beyond Minnesota all the way to al-Shabaab, a U.S.-designated terrorist organization responsible for attacks that have killed Americans.

In December of that same year, Nick Shirley’s 42-minute investigation into Somali-run childcare centers in Minnesota dropped on social media. The investigation uncovered an estimated $110 million in suspected fraud.
Merry Christmas, you filthy animals.
In March of 2026, Shirley turned his lens on California, uncovering another $170 million in fraud via fake hospice centers. Rufo followed with Gavin Newsom’s Empire of Fraud, estimating the state had hemorrhaged $180 billion to welfare scams involving dead people, prisoners, and criminal networks.
Californication? More like Califraudication.
Which brings us to this week. Rosiak. Columbus, Ohio. Another billion dollars. At the center of it all — the Somali community, once again.
Cue the racist smears.
Why is it that when you follow the highway-robbery road, it so often leads back to this diaspora?
Democrats’ bleeding hearts, progressives’ polite niceties, and the clans they imported created the perfect conditions for this tribal and criminal storm.
Minnesota is home to the largest Somali population in the Western world outside of Somalia itself. Over 150,000 Somalis arrived in America beginning in the 1990s; that number now totals roughly 260,000, including U.S.-born children, the vast majority of whom are concentrated in Minnesota. The state didn’t just become a resettlement hub; it became a target-rich environment, and the welfare state was the target.
In Somalia, clan-based loyalty isn’t cultural flavor; it’s the operating system. As Somali-American author Ayaan Hirsi Ali has written, growing up there meant “loyalty to kin was absolute. Loyalty to the nation was theoretical at best.” The state is not a civic institution; it’s a resource. Something to be manipulated, defrauded, and stripped for parts, all in service of the clan. It is about survival. It is about control. The nation is irrelevant; your tribe is everything. Everyone outside it is a threat, not a neighbor. This mindset doesn’t just enable fraud; it sanctifies it — and it sustains cycles of trauma, radicalism, and revenge that make genuine integration nearly impossible.
For many in this community, the American government has not been a ladder to assimilation. It has been a vending machine. Not a tool for integration, a tool for exploitation.
The numbers make this impossible to dispute, which is why the Left throws the word “racist” around. Minnesota’s Medicaid Housing Stabilization Services program saw annual payouts explode by 4,515%. The Feeding Our Future child nutrition program received $3.4 million in 2019; by 2021, that number had ballooned to $200 million. In 2023 alone, Medicaid paid out $399 million in autism-related claims tied to Somali children, with a staggering 1-in-16 four-year-olds diagnosed. The money funded luxury cars and lavish homes, not the vulnerable children it claimed to serve.
When the indictments poured in, the majority of perpetrators were members of Minnesota’s Somali community: Moktar Hassan Aden, Mustafa Dayib Ali, Khalid Ahmed Dayib, and Abdifitah Mohamud Mohamed. In Columbus, Ohio? Same story.

As Rosiak put it: “They all share combinations of just a few names, like Ahmed Mohamed and Mohamed Ahmed. Documents reviewed by The Daily Wire show individuals will spell their own name multiple different ways within a single document. And many of them list their birthday as January 1, because their birthdates are unknown.”
Laughable. And when the auditors finally came looking, much of the money was already bilked, moved through hawala, an informal Islamic money transfer system that operates almost entirely off the books and leaves virtually no paper trail.
Our hard-earned cash, flying in a suitcase over the Indian Ocean, on its way to Mogadishu.
This isn’t a uniquely American problem. Somali clusters in Stockholm, London, and Toronto have followed the same playbook, testing the limits of liberal democracies that mistook empathy for surrender. The result, in each case: entrenched poverty, failing schools, and gang violence hardening into generational dysfunction.
The diagnosis has been made. The only question is whether our ruling class has the spine to follow through on treatment.
Anyone entering this nation must assimilate and integrate into the civic and social fabric of the country taking them in. That expectation is not bigotry. It is the basic contract of immigration. It is especially non-negotiable when people are arriving from places where rape is routine, women are killed with impunity, and justice is rarely served.
We don’t do that here. And our tax dollars sure as hell shouldn’t be subsidizing it over there.
The prescription is straightforward: financial restrictions tied to verified citizenship status, aggressive taxation on remittance transfers, prosecutorial teeth in immigration-related fraud cases, and the backbone to see it all through.
Reporters aren’t racist for exposing rot. You aren’t racist for talking about it. As for the leftists who let this fester for decades while calling everyone else a bigot? They have a lot of explaining to do.
